Ça or Sa? How to Choose the Right Word in French ✏️
In French, ça and sa sound exactly the same, so the students always mix them up. This worksheet gives a clear rule: ça replaces cela (Ça me fait rire = Cela me fait rire), and sa shows that something belongs to someone, with a feminine noun (sa chambre, sa réponse).
After the lesson, 20 sentences to complete, in three levels: easy, intermediate, difficult. The easy ones give the confidence, and the difficult ones are the real life, with two blanks in the same sentence. The answer key is included, of course. ✨ What students practise
First, the rule, in two small boxes with examples. Ça is the demonstrative pronoun: it replaces cela, and it appears in the reactions and emotions (Ça fait longtemps !, Ça m’a fait peur). Sa is the possessive adjective: it always announces a feminine singular noun, and it shows possession (sa casquette, sa guitare, sa réponse).
Then the practice: 7 easy sentences, 6 intermediate, 7 difficult. The trick is simple: if you can replace the word with cela, you write ça; if the word announces a feminine noun that belongs to someone, you write sa. In short, a small rule, but a big difference on the paper.

Move to the intermediate and difficult sentences, sometimes with two blanks.
