✨ One theme, four steps

The four worksheets form a progression on the same vocabulary. The A1 page guides: each gap has its word bank right above it. The A2 page lets go: one continuous text, twelve gaps, one word list for the whole paragraph, then comprehension questions. The picture page changes the entry point: no text to complete, six questions answered by observing teeth and tooth diagrams. The long A2+ version gives more reading: a fuller text for stronger students or for a second session on the same theme.

🟢 Step 1 · A1 guided

Two short parts, seven gaps, a word bank per part. The student is never alone in front of the blank.

🔵 Step 2 · A2 autonomous

A full paragraph with twelve gaps and one word list, three true/false statements, and one question to answer in a complete sentence.

🖼️ Step 3 · In pictures

Six questions answered from the pictures: the jobs of the teeth, the healthy tooth, the damaged part. Observation first, words second.

🟣 Step 4 · A2+ long text

An older, longer version of the A2 text: more reading, the same vocabulary, ideal for fast readers or a revision session.

💡 How to use the four worksheets: A1 in class with the teacher, A2 as homework or pair work, the picture page as a fast-finisher activity or a revision test, and the long A2+ version for students who finished early or for a second lesson on the same theme. Same words, four depths: the vocabulary meets the student several times, which is exactly what memory needs.

🟢 Worksheet 1 · A1: guided practice

Two parts, seven sentences to complete, each word used once. Part 1, Why teeth need care: after you eat, sugar stays on the teeth, bacteria use it and produce acids, acids cause cavities, so keep your teeth clean. Part 2, Simple habits: brush your teeth morning and evening, clean between them with dental floss, visit the dentist regularly.

This version is language-neutral: the key words are shown with a picture or an emoji, so the page works in any classroom, in any country.

🦷 teeth
🧵 dental floss
🕳️ cavities
⚗️ acids
🍬 sugar
🕑 twice a day

🔵 Worksheet 2 · A2: the complete text

One paragraph about oral hygiene, twelve gaps, one word list for the whole text: bacteria, between, brush, cavities, dentist, eat, fresh, gently, mouth, scratch, teeth, tongue. The student has to hold the whole text in mind and choose the right word for each gap, including adverbs like gently and verbs like scratch.

Then two comprehension tasks: three true/false statements about brushing (twice a day, not too hard, not only the front teeth), and one question to answer in a full sentence: How can bacteria damage your teeth?

🦠 bacteria
↔️ between
🪥 brush
🕳️ cavities
🧑‍⚕️ dentist
🍽️ eat
🌬️ fresh
🪽 gently
👄 mouth
⚠️ scratch
🦷 teeth
👅 tongue

🖼️ Worksheet 3 · A1-A2: dental care in pictures

Six questions, and the answers are in the pictures, not in a text. Four questions on the jobs of the teeth: which teeth crush food, which cut it, which tear it, which grind it. Then two observation questions: which picture shows a healthy tooth, and which label points to the damaged part of the tooth.

🦷 The four jobs

Crush, cut, tear, grind: four verbs, four types of teeth to identify on the diagram.

✅ Healthy or damaged

Compare the tooth pictures and choose the healthy one: visual discrimination in English.

🏷️ Label the damage

Find the label of the damaged part: the word meets the picture, and stays with it.

🎯 Why pictures work: a student who hesitates with the written word can still reason from the diagram, answer, and then attach the English word to what they have just understood. The picture page is also a natural revision test after the A1 and A2 worksheets.

🟣 Worksheet 4 · A2+: the longer text

An older, more detailed version of the dental care reading: a longer text, more sentences to read, the same vocabulary but with a richer context. Ideal for stronger A2 students, for B1 beginners, or for a second lesson on the same theme once the short A2 text has already been done. The worksheet is available in A4 only, as a PDF and an editable DOCX.

💡 Two versions of A2, why? the short version (worksheet 2) gives one page of practice, perfect for homework or a 20-minute session. The long version (this one) gives more reading stamina, perfect for a 45-minute class or for students who read fast and need more. Both train the same vocabulary: the choice is about length, not about level.

🎯 Recommended level, and more health pages

💡 Best fit: A1 and A2 ESL classes, around grades 5 to 8, and any health or body unit in an English classroom. The long A2+ version also fits early B1 students or a second lesson on the theme. The theme also pairs well with a dental-health week: the worksheet brings the language, the dentist brings the context. More English worksheets live in the English category.
