✨ What students practise

Three skills at once: reading a short descriptive text, extracting the exact information it contains, and writing it in the right field of a form — with the correct spelling and format. These are the skills used every day in a French-speaking country: town hall, bank, school, doctor’s office.

The task also prepares for the DELF A1 and A2 exams, where form-filling from a short text is a classic reading exercise. And because the three portraits vary (names, countries, jobs, family situations), the vocabulary never repeats in a mechanical way.

1 📖 Read

Read one portrait: who is speaking, where, what job, which family situation.

2 🔍 Extract

Find the seven pieces of information hidden in the short text.

3 ✍️ Fill in

Write each detail in the correct field of the personal information form.

4 ✅ Check

Correct with the answer key included in every version.

👥 The three portraits

Three characters, three lives, three forms to complete:

💼 Paulo Ferreira

Portuguese, company manager, born on 10 April 1970, lives at 30 rue du Four in Nantes. Married, two children.

👨‍🍳 Arturo Bianco

Italian, cook, born on 23 September 1982 in Rome, lives at 10 rue de Bourgogne in Lyon. Divorced, one daughter.

🗂️ Mourad Hassan

Algerian, administrative assistant, born on 12 March 1980 in Algiers, lives at 22 rue Charles-Michels in Saint-Denis. Single, no children.

📋 The seven fields of each form

👤 Nom · last name
👤 Prénom · first name
🎂 Date de naissance · date of birth
🏠 Adresse · address
💼 Profession · profession
🌍 Nationalité · nationality
💍 Situation matrimoniale · marital status
💡 Teacher tip: read the three portraits aloud first, then pre-teach the field words (nom, prénom, nationalité, adresse…). After the writing task, extend orally: « Comment tu t’appelles ? Où habites-tu ? » — the same questions, about the students this time.

🎯 Who is it for, and why it works

🧑🏫 Teachers & adults

A ready-to-print class support, and real-life training for newcomers in France.

🌍 Why it matters: filling in a form is one of the first things a newcomer does in French — at the town hall, the bank, the school or the doctor’s office. This worksheet turns that real task into a safe, corrected practice.
