🗺️ Going Out in Town: Read a Text and Trace a Route
This French reading worksheet helps students read a short text and follow a simple route on a town map. Learners must understand the person’s program, identify the places mentioned in the text, and then trace the route on the worksheet.
The route starts from home and goes through several places in town: the school, the farm, the bookstore, the hospital and the café. This activity is especially useful for French A1 learners, young students, beginner readers, tutoring, homeschooling and first reading comprehension activities.
🧠 Before Starting
Before students complete the worksheet, ask them to look at the town map and name the places they recognize. This helps activate vocabulary and prepares them to understand the route described in the text.
- Which places can you see on the map?
- Where does the route start?
- How can you explain a route to someone?
- Which French words can help describe a route: aller, passer par, tourner, arriver?
