Pixel Art Symmetry: Complete the Picture, Square by Square ❄️
Half of the picture is already there; the other half is waiting. On each grid, the child counts the squares from the axis of symmetry, colors the mirror side, and watches a pumpkin, a ladybird, a Christmas tree or a little house appear — et voilà, the picture is complete.
Two seasonal versions are included: Fall (leaves, pumpkin, ladybird) and Winter (snow, fir tree, gift box). The fall version with watermark is free for everybody; the clean fall PDF and the winter PDF are for Premium members.
✨ What the children practise
First, the eye: see that the drawn half and the empty half are mirror images. Then, the counting: how many squares from the axis? Two orange squares on the left, so two orange squares on the right. The grid does the rest — in short, geometry without the word « geometry ».
And because it is pixel art, the coloring stays easy: one square, one color, no shading, no stress. The child concentrates, counts, colors, and at the end checks the result with one glance: if both sides match, the picture stands up straight.
Find the axis of symmetry and study the drawn half.
Count the squares between the axis and each colored square.
Color the mirror squares on the empty side, one by one.
Fold the page in your head: both halves must match perfectly.
🍂 The fall version: pumpkin, ladybird and friends
Four half-drawn autumn pictures on warm orange and brown grids: a jack-o’-lantern, a ladybird and two furry friends. The gentlest entry point of the two seasons — perfect for October and November.

❄️ The winter version: fir tree, gift and snow
Four half-drawn winter pictures on cool green and red grids: a fir tree, a decorated Christmas tree, a gift box and a small house. One or two squares more of challenge than the fall version — a nice step up for December.

❓ Frequently asked questions
🧒 What level is this worksheet for?
Beginners: Grade 1-2, or any child who can count to ten on a grid. No reading required, only counting and coloring.
🗂️ What does the worksheet contain?
Four half-drawn pixel pictures per season, on squared grids: the child completes each picture by mirror symmetry. Two seasons: fall and winter.
🖐️ What skills does it practise?
Mirror symmetry, counting on a grid, concentration, and fine motor control — the quiet foundations of geometry.
🎁 Which version is free?
The fall PDF with watermark is free for everybody. The clean fall PDF and the winter PDF are reserved for Premium members.
📏 Is there an answer key?
The answer key is the picture itself: once both halves match, the child sees immediately that the symmetry is correct. A self-corrective activity.
