Emotions and Feelings: Two English Vocabulary Worksheets (Free PDF) 💬
Twenty feelings in two worksheets, built on one single structure: « I’m happy because… », « I feel tired because… ». Worksheet 1 covers the first ten emotions (happy, sad, afraid, lonely, disappointed, worried, confused, hurt, excited, bored), and worksheet 2 the next ten (tired, guilty, surprised, over the moon, angry, pleased, feeling down, relaxed, shocked, frustrated). On each page: ten beginnings to match with ten endings, then two personal sentences to write.
The Worksheet 1 US Letter PDF with watermark is free for everybody; Premium members get the clean version instead, plus Worksheet 2, the DOCX files and the two answer keys. Every PDF exists in A4 and US Letter.
✨ What the students practise
Each page works the same way, and that repetition is the point: the structure feeling + because + reason is met twenty times in a row, in ten different situations per worksheet. The matching task builds comprehension, and the « Your turn » part turns it into production: two true or imaginary sentences, written by the student.
Read the ten beginnings: « I’m happy because… », « I feel tired because… ».
Read the ten endings, each illustrated: a spider, a suitcase, a test, a phone…
Write the letter of the best ending in each gap. Every letter is used once.
Part C: two true or imaginary sentences with a feeling and a reason.
😊 Worksheet 1 · Happy, sad, afraid: the first ten feelings
The ten basic emotions of everyday life: happy, sad, afraid, lonely, disappointed, worried, confused, hurt, excited, bored. The endings in part B are short and concrete (a spider next to me, a test tomorrow, a best friend who moved away), so the matching stays accessible even at A1.
Ten beginnings to complete: « I’m happy because… », « I feel lonely because… », « I’m bored because… ».
Ten illustrated endings to match: the spider, the suitcase, the A+ test, the clock, the theatre masks…
Two sentences to write, true or imaginary: « I feel … because … ». The structure becomes personal.

🥱 Worksheet 2 · Tired, guilty, surprised: ten more feelings

Two idioms come with a word help box: over the moon means very happy, and feeling down means feeling sad. The endings are slightly longer (someone took my phone without asking, my computer still won’t save my work), which makes this page a real A2 step after worksheet 1.
Ten new beginnings, numbered 01 to 10, including the two idioms over the moon and feeling down.
Ten illustrated situations: the peaceful walk, the dream trip, the praised A+ work, the 4-hour night…
