What students practise

First, reading the situation: a small party on Saturday evening, noise until late, and the need to warn the neighbours. Then the real writing work: a short note with the right structure, from the greeting to the signature, with the politeness formulas that make it sound natural in French.

Along the way, students revise the near future (il y aura du bruit, nous allons faire une soirée), the verbs of apology (s’excuser de, être désolé de) and the noun la gêne (the inconvenience). A concrete task they will really use one day.

🎯 Recommended level

💡 Best fit: A2 for a simple note with the checklist at hand, B1 for a more elaborate one, playing with the registers (formal veuillez nous excuser versus friendly désolé pour le bruit !). A lovely pair-work follow-up: one student writes the note, the neighbour writes the answer.
