Grade 2 Multiplication: Fun Problems with Chickens, Dragons and Ghosts 🐙
Four chickens on rollerblades, an octopus wearing bracelets, a dragon with a cold: this worksheet turns the multiplication into a story. The child reads the problem, finds the numbers, writes the calculation, then writes the answer. And because the characters are funny, the child smiles — and a child who smiles remembers better.
Two versions are included: a short version with 4 problems (free, with our branding) for a first try, and the full version with 6 problems for Premium members. Each problem gives a big space for the calculation and a line for the answer, so the good habit is installed from the start.
✨ What the children practise
First, the reading: each problem is a small story with the key numbers in bold — 4 chickens, 2 rollerblades each. The child has to find how many groups, and how many in each group. That is the real skill of the multiplication, before the calculation itself.
Then, the writing: one space for « my calculation », one line for « my answer ». The child learns to show the work, not just the result — a habit that will save a lot of points later. In short, a worksheet that checks the tables from ×2 to ×7, with a dragon and a ghost as assistants.
Read the fun problem and look at the picture.
Underline the numbers: how many groups? How many in each?
Write the multiplication in the « My calculation » space.
Write the answer on the line, with the unit if possible.
