Treasure Island: A French Reading Worksheet to Follow the Clues (Free PDF) 🗺️
Five numbered clues in simple French, one pirate map, and one mission: « À la recherche du trésor ! » The student reads each instruction, finds the places on the map (Crab Island, Dead Island, Turtle Island, the Great Island), traces the route in red, and marks the treasure with a cross at the foot of the blue mountain.
A reading task that ends with a pencil in the hand: the comprehension becomes visible on the page. The black and white US Letter PDF with watermark is free for everybody; the clean PDFs, in color and in black and white, in A4 and US Letter, are for Premium members.
✨ What the students practise
Reading instructions in French is a skill of its own: each sentence starts with a verb in the imperative (pars, passe, récupère, rejoins, débarque), and each verb moves the reader one step further on the map. The student must understand the order, the places and the colors, then show the result with a red line and a cross.
Read the five numbered clues, one by one, in order.
Find each place on the map: the islands, the rock, the beach, the mountains.
Draw the route in red, from Dead Island to the Great Island.
Put a cross where the treasure is buried: at the foot of the blue mountain.

🖍️ What about the black and white version?
It is ink-friendly and doubles as a coloring page: once the route is traced, the map can be colored, which extends the activity quietly.
