Animal Homes Worksheet: Draw Four Animal Habitats

Where do these animals live? Let children draw the answer.

This animal homes worksheet invites children to complete four illustrated scenes: Farm, Forest, Ocean and Jungle. The animals are already on the page. Children add the surroundings to show where each group lives.

Use it to introduce simple English habitat words, encourage observation and give children a reason to talk about their drawings. Download the free US Letter PDF with watermark, or choose the Premium A4 and US Letter PDFs without watermark.

🌿 Four settings to explore

Each labelled box provides animal pictures and plenty of space to draw. The details below are ideas for extending the activity, so children can make each scene their own.

🐷 Farm

A pig, a rooster and a hen introduce the farm setting. Children could add a barn, a fence or a patch of grass.

🌲 Forest

A moose provides the starting point for a forest scene. Add trees, plants or a woodland path around it.

🐟 Ocean

Two fish invite children to imagine an underwater setting. They could draw water, seaweed, rocks or a sandy seabed.

🦜 Jungle

A parrot, a spotted big cat and a monkey prompt a jungle scene. Children could add leafy trees, vines and branches.

✏️ Turn a drawing into a short English conversation

Read the four labels together and name the animals children recognise. Then invite them to complete the scenes and explain one detail they have added.

Notice and describe

Ask “What can you see?” or “Where does the fish live?” Pointing, naming and short answers all give beginners a way to take part.

Build a simple sentence

Model “The fish lives in the ocean” or “I drew a tree.” These are optional speaking prompts to use alongside the drawing task.

Who is it for? Early-years and early-primary learners, including children beginning English with adult support. Read the instruction aloud when needed; the main task is drawing rather than independent reading or writing.
